Vodiţa was a monastery near the village Vârciorova, Drobeta Turnu Severin, built on the expense and effort of ruler Vladislav I at suggestion of monk Nicodemus and his brothers. Most likely it was built between 1369 (when the monk arrived in the Romanian Country) and 1374 [1] (when this place of worship was mentioned for the first time in a document of the ruler Vladislav I). The complex was renewed in 1400 and 1689, this time by Brăiloiu Cornea. Today the former monastery buildings are in ruins. The original church of the monastery is probably the first monument erected on the Romanian sacral architecture conch plan. This so-called type I Vodiţa was preserved by fundamentals. Vlaicu Voda in 1370-1375 founded a new church, whose vaulting system is supported by pilasters are a side to side aisles. Traian's Bridge was a bridge built by Apollodorus of Damascus , the Column's architect, between spring of year 103 and spring of year 105 [1 ] on the Lower Danube , east of Iron Gates , in the city of Drobeta -Turnu Severin. The purpose of the construction was to facilitate the transport of Roman troops led by Traian and supplies necessary for the second military conquer campaign of King Decebal s Dacia. The place to build Traian's Bridge was chosen by Apollodorus of Damascus downstream of today’s Severin because Danube calms down after the exit of the Cazane(Boilers) gorge ( Iron Gate ) and the bottom of the riverbed was sufficiently loaded with stones and rocks worn in gorge between the Carpathians and the Balkans, an extremely stable foundation to support construction. The bridge measured 1,135 meters long linking Pontes camp on the southern bank (Serbia Today ) to Drobeta camp on the northern bank .

Coronini Fortress / St. Ladislaus Fortress. Fortress near the village of Coronini , on the road leading from Orsova to Moldova Noua, has a special story . Built in place of ancient Dacian ruins , the city was first mentioned in a document from 1430 in which we can deduce that it was completed by Sigismund of Luxembourg in 1428 ( although it was shown to be older , with at least another century ) . But after 1536 there are no mentions of the city . One reason for this is that by 1526 the region came under Ottoman rule and the city lost its strategic importance. Across the Danube on the Serbian bank, the romantic fortress of Golubat (Golubac) was found, built aproximately around the same period. There is a legend that tells the story of a captain in Coronini who fell in love with a slave of Golubat .
